Tuesday night I watched The Joke. It was pretty good, well-filmed. I forget how the book ended exactly, but it felt like it ended a bit short (I know a lot of the book's flashbacks to the labor camp and the mines were left out, not as a oh-how-dare-they-not-put-it-in-the-movie criticism, I just, I wish I could remember how the book stops...). Okay, I just looked up the last sentence. It put things out of order and something happens after how the book ends. Anyway. I'm just babbling about minutiae. Yesterday most of the people at my work started moving to the new location across the street. My team is some of the few not moving til next week. It's pretty empty over in the gold building. We walked over yesterday to check it out. It's pretty sweet that all the desks can be raised/lowered. We wanted to see where we sit, but that area is still blocked off by construction and all that. Drats. I thought we could be sneaky 'cuz I saw we were next to some stairs on the map. So we went downstairs to try to get up over there, but that stairwell is all emergency exit alarm will sound and all that crap. Blasted! Anyway, after work yesterday Mary Beth and I went over to Studio on the Square and watched the latest Memphis in May/Indie Memphis selection: Stories We Tell. It was really good. Wasn't sure I'd think so at first, but it definitely won me over. Now what?
