We went over to Patrick and Donna's yesterday for some board game action. We started with Catan and I won. Woo for thats. Next we played Carcassonne with some expansions. Never played with any expansions before so that was cool. Mary Beth has never liked Carcassonne so we hadn't played in forever, but she liked it better with the expansions so maybe we'll get some and play again in the future! Woo that. We also played Arboretum and Splendor. Patrick and Donna were into the latter. Okay so it was a fun gaming night. Later. Riddle: what is something that you always want to throw away but never want to break? Okay well that thing broke so that's stressful. Today we went and got breakfast for lunch. Mary Beth was craving some Bryant's but we wouldn't've been able to get there in time. I had a vague memory floating around in my brain of someone saying there's a new pancake place. So I looked it up and found this place called Staks that opened a few months ago. So we went. It was crowded. Food was good. So that's a breakfast option. Then we went for a walk. Same deal as before. We walked over to Overton Park. Walked the trail and then went over to the Brooks. Checked out some of the exhibits. The big one is American folk art. The small room also had a an exhibit of "60s Cool" which actually did have some cool stuff. Now back home. Here's a detail I forgot to mention in my last post about the Spill It story I liked. She was describing the place where they met the "helium heir" and how he had the top floor of a Chase bank building (fourteenth floor I think, the tallest point in Amarillo). She started to describe this as a "den of inequity" and realized that wasn't the right word so she found "iniquity." Then she said the rest of the building was the "den of inequity." A lot of people (including me) laughed and she laughed and said that part was an accident and not rehearsed. It was my favorite part of the story, and I liked the rest a lot too.
