Monday Mary Beth made a fancy dinner. $40 of filet mignon ended up in our cart at the grocery store (confusion at the meat counter, I guess). So Mary Beth made the most of it by, you know, cooking it. And it was delicious. Yesterday after work I walked down to Bar Louie for the Memphis for Bernie meetup. I sat with this old couple who own a pet store in Arkansas and talked a little bit with them. I signed up to be on the tech team, so we'll see how that transpires if at all. Potentially exciting. Walked back home and went with Mary Beth to DC film shorts thing at Crosstown Arts. A couple were pretty good. Overall it was definitely one of the weaker of the shorts festival collection thingies. It had a pretty light bent. Though some stuff was funny. Like the first one (The Gunfight, with Nick Offerman as the narrator that the characters could hear). After that ... drumroll ... I picked up my car! They said on Monday that there was a hose that needed replacement as it was leaking water and thus everyone got too fucking hot. He wanted to test drive on Tuesday. So nothing else turned out wrong so I guess I got fucking lucky. So drove it to work today and all that and it was fine. Someone the team works with who's over in Iowa was in town so we took her to dinner after work. So I finally ate at Buckley's. It's all fancier-seeming that it seems like it should be. Well, they had a strawberry jam burger so I had to have that. The jam part was good, but the burger was a little overcooked. It wasn't bad, but not up to the level it seems like they're trying to exhude. Not too much else. Been workin' at work (you know, mostly busy). Uh that's about it, I guess.
