The show last night was okay. My proudest moment was usurping the jukebox from the bikers and possibly staff of Rock House Live playing the likes of Buckcherry, Iron Maiden, Journey, and pandercore country. In the midst of all this I managed to get in The Velvet Underground "Heroin," Sonic Youth "(She's in a) Bad Mood," Devo "Jocko Homo," Tangerine Dream "Circulation of Events," John Coltrane & Don Cherry "Focus on Sanity," Lou Reed "Real Good Time Together," Public Enemy "Terminator X to the Edge of Panic," Sonic Youth "Ghost Bitch," and AC/DC "Touch Too Much" (okay, the last wasn't out of place there, but requested by Mary Beth and how can I say no to AC/DC anyway?). An old childhood friend of Jacques's named Hunter was there. Crazy thing, he recognized me from the dorm at Knoxville. He had an association with me and The Clash as well (definitely wore a Clash shirt around those times). The first band was pop punk and I wasn't into them at all. I mean, they were "tight" though that's probably added to my disliking them. Those fast tight stops and changes they liked to do always sound stupid to me. Next was Foxlove and us last. Here's our set:

Death Blow

Battle Chant
A Series of False Starts
The last song was not planned into our set and not practiced. Ryan just shouted out that we were playing it next after we were done. But it was cool. Our set wasn't great but I don't think it was terrible. Jacques definitely did. I mean, Paul WAS too drunk to play. And it led to that thing where he's over-confident and plays extra fills (he shouldn't be playing in the first place) on top of barely being able to play the actual song adds overplaying badly to the mix. But eh, I know I had some screw ups but I don't think it was terrible. Jacques was pissed and whiney about it though. I haven't listened to the recording yet. In spite of my cold I was able to sing "Battle Chant" though I didn't have much of a voice when I first awoke. Not too much else. Indian buffeet this afternoon after I finally woke up. And this is annoying, while typing this post the 'e' key on this new awesome keyboard of mine seems to be going out and it is pissing me off.
