Yesterday I watched Bad Timing 'cuz Mary Beth had wanted me to. She wanted me to 'cuz she hates it and wanted to talk about it, but we had different reactions/interpretations and I liked it a lot. She felt the movie was being sympathetic to Art Garfunkel's character, but I didn't. Later she took a nap and I watched Fear and Desire, Kubrick's first and I hadn't seen it. Unfortunately it's not very good. I mean, it's good to watch from a Kubrick-historian-type standpoint. There are things worth seeing in it, but they're even harder to find than in his other early films. I can see why he didn't want anyone to watch it, but I'm glad we can--if that makes sense. Anyway, later in the evening Mary Beth and I played Dominion a bunch again. This time she won all the games (ugh and the last two in a row I lost by one frickin' point!). So what usually happens happened, I'll be better at something til she practices more then my "skill" is lost forever. For some reason I had trouble falling asleep last night and got to sleep pretty late. Then I woke up even later and I don't know why I was so tired in bed. I mean, I got more than enough sleep in spite of everything. After I finally got up and did my tabatas I felt much more energized.
