ateolf: (the goat...BITCH!)
I took Mary Beth's car down to Southhaven to get the windshield repaired. After that, Jacques came over and we worked on mixing. We mixed "Fall Behind" and it was much less trouble than I had thought it was going to be. Then with the time we had, we set to work on "Doctorate." We noticed a few places where the vocals procuded some artifacts. First, there was a rush of wind leading up to a 'wh.' I was able to cut out the sound before to a reasonable degree, but a little later there was a mild pop on a 'b' and a very bad pop on a 'p.' These were in no way salvageable so we had to rerecord the vocals on the song. Could've been a pain in the ass, but it actually went pretty well (and I think the new recording sounds better overall anyhow). It also went relatively quickly so we had some more time after we got them recorded and set about mixing the song, which we got done. So! With our skipping last week, we're still right on track...our very slow track. But we're almost halfway through, so that's worth something. Mary Beth and I wrapped up the night with Huey's. Not much else outside of that. Now my spring break's about to be over as I need to start working. Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention that the night before leaving for our trip (Monday night), I finished reading King Lear. Had been working on that off-and-on (mostly off) for a long while.
