Fast Approaching

On Saturday. Jacques came over first. We worked out the fast part in the middle of "Safety Corridor." Then Paul showed up and he chime in as well and we started to get it really nailed down. Pretty awesome. Then we went back to "Lost Year." Jacques wasn't happy with how he'd cut off the last chord. Well, we figured if we were gonna tag the chord in at the we'd go all out. So the three of us hooked up and got as loud and distorted as possible and played it together. The held out feedback drone at the end ended up lasting longer than the actual song. Really awesome. We'll see where it goes from there. Then Mary Beth and I went to my cousin's wedding. Then we had our anniversary dinner at Iris. Mary Beth was disappointed that they no longer do the tasting menu on the weekends. Well, then the rest of the week has just been coasting along, wrapping stuff up, procrastinating, and getting ready for fall break this weekend! Mary Beth's brand new tire had a flat so the folks at Madison fixed it, or got it a new one. Uh. Last night got very little sleep. Mostly grades are in. Just got this afternoon's tutoring make-up grades (and some older tutoring make-up grades) to put in. Oh, yesterday I did have someone from the board observe my room. It was fine too, so that's nice. Got my yearbook picture taken pretty much as I was walking back to the lounge on my planning period. Tutoring this afternoon was, I think, my best number of students to quality of behavior ratio ever. There were more than usual (of course, since it's right at the end of the grading period) though it wasn't insanely crowded, but they were all perfect so it was pretty great. Okay, I need to finish my stuff and pack so I can be okay to drive a whole bunch tomorrow. Oh yeah, I'm forgetting stuff. Molly came by to take Mary Beth to Courtney's bachelorette party and dropped off my I Dream of Wires stuff (the reason I never got it was 'cuz it was sent to Josh instead of me, I got him a copy for his birthday, but they were supposed to be two separate orders). The Hardcore Edition dvd, of course, a shirt, and then there was a pack with cards and buttons and stuff. I also received my birthday present. I'm not sure what it is yet. It's a circuit board for what looks like some kind of pedal. Well, there's only one jack. Maybe it's some sort of tone generator. It's got a battery thing. It's got three knobs, it's got a switch, and it's got a jack. Anyway, I can't wait til I have a chance to find out! Oh yeah. He was supposed to give me all that at Dustin's bachelor party Saturday night. I got there late because of dinner. Everyone was already drunk and then I was tired. It was sad, I ended up passing out for most of it. But it was fun to see everyone.
