Flowers Hunt
Feb. 26th, 2013 06:50 pmRyan couldn't make it, but the rest of us worked on that yet unnamed pop song that Jacques sings. We worked a while getting the instruments to sound right to record Jacques's and Paul's parts. After it took a while to set everything up and get a good sound and a quick test run, I checked my phone and saw a text from my neighbor that it was his girlfriend's birthday and asking us to cut the loudness out by 6. I checked my phone at 5:54. So we went for our one shot at recording and I think we got it. (I say "we" meaning more of a "they".) Jacques and Mary Beth and I went and had dinner at Casablanca. Then Jacques and I went to do some extra recording. We went to add synth at the end of "Doctorate" (how I played it live over the summer when I couldn't/wouldn't play the bass). Well, I had been doing Canon in D, but the songs' phrasings were of different lengths so I was doing a bunch of work to refit it to make it work. Jacques kept hating everything I did though. In the end, after working on it a few hours, I just kept the notes but put 'em (some of 'em) in a different order. I guess I still have some essence of the canon in there. Gym on Sunday. Yesterday was my mom's birthday. After work Mary Beth and I met her and my dad at The Macaroni Grill. So I had an unseasonable weeknight out. I also got Atoms for Peace: Amok in the mail yesterday. Been on a new forum recently: muffwiggler. I may be about to be making my first dip into Eurorack from therefrom happenings. Unless, of course, it all goes horribly wrong. Let's put our hopes on not. Anyway.
