ateolf: (METAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Saturday morning I went back to the DMV and got to pass insepction this time (jerks). The wait was actually much shorter this time, so there's that. Later that evening was the execution of Mary Beth's Christmas present. We went to the Cochon 555 thingie and ate lots of pig from snout to tail. Very good stuff and the butchering presentation from the Newman farms dude was interesting. Afterwards we went over to Paul and Shawna's and played board games with them and Jacques and Josh. Then Sunday was band practice. Brad defied expectations and showed up. We tried leading the new intro thing into "A Series of False Starts" and it was pretty awesome. At some point that day I finished reading The Last Novel by David Markson. It was pretty great and the perfect thing to have been reading amidst a teaching year. I'm happy to see this week having been finished. I thought it was gonna kill me with all the junk I had to do. LAST week there was a miscommunication about when the assignment for our masters project was due so it was instead due this week, the same day as the next week's assignment. Of course, I procrastinated and had to spend all day Tuesday doing the one part and Wednesday doing the other. Then on Thursday I had some damn crap due in my stupid class. Along with all the normal teaching stuff going on. And Thursday I had a bunch of extra stuff to do for work as well. I did get in the mail, on Thursday, Louis and Bebe Barron: Forbidden Planet soundtrack. Had a pretty good workout at the gym last night. I was thinking I wouldn't even be able to make it with all the little sleep I'd gotten, but I surprisingly didn't feel too bad on Friday and took a nap when I got home anyway and felt better than usual. I'm up to deadlifting over my bodyweight now.
