last night Mary Beth and i went to see Ryan play at this place i'd never heard of called The Smoking Caterpillar...a hookah bar...Textile played last and with my schedule it was too late so we didn't actually get to see them play, but we got to hang out with Ryan a bit...the first band was terrible...one of the guys from Ryan's band is in it...they were your standard emo/pop punk fare with a somewhat irritating staged juveline presence, especially from the singer (and the band's apparently made up of three medical students...) the next band was alright...from Chicago, i forget their name...pretty good, though vaguely reminded me of Coldplay...if i wasn't so tired i would've probably sat through all of their set, but it wasn't good enough to keep me riveted to my seat and unable to leave...worked today a little bit early...just got back from a killer walk...
