yesterday at work the fucking california calls started...stupid, cheap company can't even pay severance pay...assholes...anyway, then it was mothers day and stuff so Mary Beth and i met my family out for dinner...i'm going to work early all this week...oh, and we started housesitting yesterday too...and then we went to see Neil Hamburger at the hi-tone...it was an exceptionally funny show...the opener was JP Inc. (which turned out to be Pleaseeasaur under a new name...same video set-up and some of the same videos and songs, but now he sticks to one costume...) Neil Hamburger was especially, uh, sharp? he had these real long improvisedish asides that were pretty great...at one point i just really didn't stop laughing and kind of hurt from laughing so much...the thing where he asked if anyone had children and only one guy in the audience did and he went on about Memphis being a ghost town in 15 years when we all die and our reproductive abilities, etc...that was a treat...i picked up some merch, a cd: Neil Hamburger: Sings Country Winners, a dvd: Western Music and Variety, and a pack of heckle cards (they're not with me, but the one on the front that i could see through the plastic that led me to know it would be worth the price of admission says, i believe, "what's up, bonehead?") anyway, then there's today, in which i got in the mail: Wendy Carlos: Rediscovering Lost Scores Volume Two (i guess i need volume one now, but anyway...) my weekend's beginning though it's only one day long, but that's because i traded days so i could get saturday off for my interview! (thanks, Shawna! not that there's a high chance you're actually reading this...)
