things...

yesterday i took my car in for this airbag recall that happened last summer but i just recently ran across the letter at the bottom of the mailpile...on the phone i mentioned my cd player not working, but when i got there they said they don't work on that...the best they could do is send it off somewhere and it's just $300 for the sending off part...so, yeah, no...i found the same exact player remanufactured on ebay, i made an offer but it wasn't accepted...it's not terribly expensive but i'm not sure i wanna get it or just something else new...i'm so used to it and it's a six-disc changer...just don't wanna buy one and have that break too...hrm...i did get a free car wash coupon, unfortunately theirs is a machine...i guess my car's a little cleaner than it was...got the rest of my Criterion going-out-of-print dvds in a couple of packages yesterday: Trafic, Peeping Tom, and The White Sheik...Mary Beth and i went to Garden Ridge and i actually got a bunch of books there: Detective Story by Imre Kertész, The Raw Shark Texts by Steven Hall, Spaceman Blues by Brian Francis Slattery, Oh the Glory of It All by Sean Wilsey, Essential Self-Defense by Adam Rapp, Malinche by Laura Esquivel, Interviewing Matisse or the Woman Who Died Standing Up by Lily Tuck, and The Prophet of Zongo Street by Mohammed Naseehu Ali...all but the first two were 10 cents apiece (and those were still Garden Ridge priced...) later in the evening to Spin Street where i picked up a few used cds: Lightning Bolt: Ride the Skies, Sunn O))): White 1 (wasn't sure if i had it for a minute, but then i correctly deduced that it was White 2 i already had...), and Stereolab: Oscillations from the Anti-Sun...anyway, busy day with stuff...i need to write a damned letter of recommendation for myself tonight...aye!
