christmas and other stuff...

so i got two a's for my first semester of grad school...not that that's a big feat but at least i didn't screw it up! christmas at my folks' place so there was family and food and nephew and dogs...oh, and earlier in the day i finished reading The Review of Contemporary Fiction Spring 2009 | Vol. XXIX: Georges Perec Issue (it only took me a third of the year...and even if the bulk of it weren't good (which isn't the case) it would have been worth it just for the piece of Perec's fictionalish writing it boasts: "The Machine"...a radio play that gets its translational debut here...it was great...never read Perec before...now that i have one of his actual books i can't wait to!) anyway, then i worked for two days...yesterday i finished reading Bad News of the Heart by Douglas Glover and it was good...i got some engrish shirts in the mail yesterday: "carrot game / official supply / participated in the carrot game / sporting events / official game / • song of carrot game • / digging carrots, muddy & muddy / washing them, cut & cut / the soup boiling well, hot & hot / we all favorite carrot game", "Man Friend's Rule No, 1 / NO GIRLS / in the playing poker game. / when the playing poker game is done, the thing to call girl is a prohibition. it is because the game becomes not interesting.", and "god burger" + what i presume to be the same in japanese text with a nice friendly cartoon picture of this propoposed god burger...good stuff...been housesitting for Josh and Molly and keeping Stella and Scully company...now it's my weekend...hooray...
