wednesday, after more pantry moth ridding, Mary Beth and i went to Iris for dinner...thursday night after work ended up seeing Textile at the full moon club...they played with a touring band called Motion Turns It On, who were pretty good...the drummer was insane...maybe i'm old but i thought some of their loudness got in the way of actually hearing them...the singing left something to be desired...but overall pretty good...friday i got a ton of stuff in the mail, a couple orders from amazon: The Interrogation by J.M.G. Le Clézio and Portishead: Third (i got to hear the whole thing on the flight back from spain and was then resolved to get it at some point...i'd actually ordered it a while back, but the impetus of the order (a book by Herta Müller) was/still is held up in coming...oddly to me, it's one of the best albums i've heard in a while...) plus The Original of Laura by Vladimir Nabokov (the print job is far nicer than i'd expected!) and Autechre: Envane ep...i got my order from converse as well, they'd had a one-day sale (uh, the day before i got the damn shoes! they were fast) and i couldn't pass it up...i got this one pair i'd looked at when getting shoes for the wedding: it has a silhouette of africa and these rainbow lines coming out of it, it looks awesome, though others disagree; and one of the color "enamel blue"...both were already marked down and with the sale it almost half off...and shirts from thinkgeek: the one that has 'e' written in its digits up to the umpteenth place (similar to the pi shirt, but a cooler number, yeah...), one that says "factorial!," and one that was free and a limited edition for thanksgiving that just has the image of the tryptophan molecule...couldn't pass up THAT deal either...yesterday after work went to Brad and Sherri's and got to meet Charlotte for the first time! today at work i finished reading Dhalgren by Samuel R. Delany which was good...
