final sketch?
Oct. 18th, 2009 08:33 pmfinished reading The Sound of Waves by Yukio Mishima at work today...it was okay, far from his best...well, okay, the least good of his i've read, but i guess i expected that...(even Mishima himself delineated between his serious books and the ones he wrote to make money...this being his most famous of the latter...which i guess means made him the most money...) and speaking of waves, i'll try to remember more from our honeymoon...the sea: we went swimming about every day the first half we were there...obviously, my first time in the mediterranean...i guess i knew beforehand, but man, it's quite the calm large body of water...as the days progressed the waves become more of a presence, but at best they were just little crests...it's nice, but it's also fun jumping into the waves ("body surfing" i guess is the term...) so i guess it's not the best for that...but it is good for floating, which is also fun...what else? i don't know if i can remember anything else...i'm not sure of what i've already posted...i guess i'll have to go back later and double check and see if there's anything left in my memory...ooh, one thing...one day we happened upon a record store...i had to go in, it was called Devil Records (in english)...such a good store name...also, as might have been expected, it was pretty mainstream-non-mainstream...metal, hardcore, punk and merchandise from the more obvious choices...classic rock too...i guess it was the closest to a cool record store i'd stumble across in a foreign city...of course pretty lame aside from the inherent charm...didn't pick anything up, but enjoying browswing with the devil...
