the past few days we've been waking up early due to our schedules being off and we've taken advantage of eating at breakfast places we normally can't...four days in a row: bryant's (never been to before), brother juniper's, the arcade, and today barksdale's (never been to before either...) today i went to target to get a refund on my glasses...it turns out there was a clerical error and they were shipped to another store and that's what happened...they offered to give me prescription sunglasses for free if i didn't get a refund so i went with that...which was convenient too since i don't have to go somewhere else and i have my new glasses now...i haven't seen this well in a while (would have been nice in spain, but uh...) they also seemed to have made some weird error where i somehow got two sets of lenses...well, they were supposed to just send the lenses and they were going to put them in my old frames...i ended up getting just the lenses as well as another pair in a new frame of the same model...when i go back for my sunglasses i'll see if they'll switch out the lenses on my old frames as well...while there we picked up a bunch of bookshelves (now all my overflow can get off the floor and my desk in here...) also Puzzle Quest: Galactrix in the sale bin for real cheap...we also picked up some colored christmas trees for cheap at garden ridge and a bunch of frames for posters we have at michael's...oh, and yesterday back to work but i only worked for one day before my weekend, which i guess is a nice easing back into the normal order of things...
a few stray bits of straggling information from the honeymoon: i mentioned the dogs before, but now the cats...in the botanical garden there were all these cats...most obviously abandoned and stray and many with bad injuries (for the most part tail-related, as in large portions of the tail missing...) it was actually pretty depressing there...many of 'em seemed pretty needy and begging to be adopted...we watched one have diarrhea right in front of us (well, behind foliage that was too sparse to make any difference...) a little sad, but cute too...and its elaborate burying ritual...but speaking of parks, Valencia has this really awesome park, the turia gardens...in the 50's there was this really bad flood that did a lot of damage to the city, so they decided to direct the river away from the city's center just a bit...this was accomplished after a few decades and they decided to turn the leftover riverbed into a giant 14 kilometer long park...it's very nice and on the monday we were there we went to the central market (which was great) and bought a bunch of stuff and had a little picnic in the turia gardens on a park bench...well, i'll remember more later...
