shafted on the 4th of july...

friday i was off work for the fake holiday as i said earlier, even though i wanted to fuckin' work...well, Mary Beth and i went with my dad down to arkansas for a little family thing...the main family thing was on saturday, but i was at least able to make it for that...which i guess it's good i got off work 'cuz my uncle and cousin from minnesota that i haven't seen in years were there...and my cousin i hadn't seen since he was a little kid and now he's an adult and like something of a jock and a bouncer and that's mildly weird...on the way back there was this stupid fucking roadblock id check thing where they held up traffic for thirty minutes (for us at least, i'm sure the people behind us it was even longer) on the highway south of tunica on both sides of the road...they blocked it off down to one lane and checked everyone's fucking id and it was retarded...buncha fuckin' pigs...anyway, then saturday was the 4th and i worked and didn't get paid holiday pay because the 3rd was a weekday (and the assholes who make the stupid company holidays don't work the weekends so us who do get screwed) anyway...buncha bollocks...the first holiday i wasn't able to work (i mean company holiday where i get the extra pay...) bastards...well, while there i finished reading Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass by Frederick Douglass...after work Mary Beth and i went over to Jacques and Amber's for a little cookout...then work yesterday...then the band was supposed to practice but Josh got the days mixed up and he didn't show up...the rest of us ran through a couple songs while we were there...hopefully we'll make it up today...oh, and i keep forgetting to mention, thursday Jacques brought me two Portishead cds: Dummy and Portishead...i'd actually bought 'em when i bought all those other cds that he was selling but they were hidden in some boxes or something so then i finally got 'em and stuff...
