a fun show...a bunch of people showed up...mostly after we played...but there were people there and stuff...we played first...this is what we played:
The Longest Day of the Year
Insisting
Like Clockwork
Doctorate
a pretty short set...i think we played pretty well...i screwed up part of "Insisting" where when we got the part where i arpeggiate chords well on of my fingers was on the wrong string for like a couple measures before i could figure out why it sounded weird...but that's okay...positioning my fingers on more than two strings at a time has never been my strong suit (which is why i do it so seldomly, obviously...) the bass was hooked into the pa through the amp's line out so there was no sound coming from the amp itself only the pa outside so that was kinda weird sounding to us...but otherwise the sound was great...the sound guy there at Nocturnal was amazing...and a really nice guy...one of our best experiences sound-wise...
after us was The Bitter Tears followed by Textile...it was Textile's first show and i thought they were really good (that's our friend Ryan's new band...) i was doing the door through the other two bands' sets so i was far away, but i could hear...The Bitter Tears crashed over at our place...they were really nice guys...though i think cat allergies may have gotten to Greg...oh, the people at Nocturnal were real nice too...they said we were good and should come back...though probably just 'cuz so many people came (and little do they know how few of them came because of US)...anyway i was pleasantly surprised by how great Nocturnal was to play...oh yeah, and for once we actually made money for the touring band and i felt good (as opposed guilty) for having set up the show! hoorah!
