back in the studio...
Aug. 21st, 2005 02:59 pmJacques came over yesterday and we finally picked up on the album that hadn't been touched in months...we did some post-production work on "A Series of False Starts"...we added some effects to the drums on the breakdowns...a little delay here and there on the first breakdown, and on the second breakdown added fuzz/filter sweeps to the tom...it sounds really cool...hopefully soon we'll finish whatever few other touch-ups we might want (not too many, some on "Taken" maybe "Placeholder"...) oh yeah, and before he got there i took the mixer and sort of fixed track 15 (the one that hasn't been working on the mixer)...taking it apart didn't fix it, but in the process of putting it back together i discovered the problem...i guess a switch is loose or something and it works when you have the PAD for the gain on...which is kind of lame, but at least i can get it to work at all if necessary...Josh and Molly and Stella came over for a little while too...i'm really happy with the way the song turned out...i mean, we didn't do a whole lot but what we did sounds super-cool...then after that i went over to Josh/Molly's and we went to blue coast burrito, which i guess is like a subway for burritos...it was pretty swell...then we saw March of the Penguins, which was great...usually seeing a movie in the theater is a heightened experience or something, but last night the movie wasn't quite in focus, it was clear on the sides but in the middle it was blurry...not too noticeable in close-up shots, but anything wide was pretty distracting...plus there were some loud jerks nearby...not too bad most of the movie, but every now and then...today i mowed my grandmother's lawn...very hot but not as deathly as last week...i guess that's all...
