desk

my quest for a desk continued today...and it reached its culmination...i went to the dav and found a nice big desk behind a bunch of couches for $10...i called up Justin and got him to help me with his station wagon...science was employed and we managed to fit it in...it was hot as hell today and Justin almost got a heat stroke carrying it in...but we made it and i have a nice writing desk in the other room...it's perfect...no unnecessary frills like drawers or any crap like that...well, it does have one of those really thin drawers for like station or whatever...but that's cool...and i broke the table lamp that was in the study...usually things like that get broken by being dropped on the floor...this one, however, was broken by being picked up off the floor...i was going to put it on the new desk and bumped the fancy frosted glass cover against the desk's underside and the whole thing fucking shattered into a million pieces...that was quite a shock, i say...so we went back out on a new quest for a chair and another lamp...we got both at office depot...i got a somewhat decent chair...much more than what i paid for the desk...i guess the price is okay but it's a lame mail in rebate...and i just got some cheap lamp (only slightly more than the desk was) that has one of those green glass covers...i'm sure this seems like the most dull thing to read about but i'm excited about it...hopefully i'll actually make use of this desk situation...we'll see...i assembled the chair and it goes with the desk perfectly...they make just the right chair to desk height ratio...my study is a study...congratulations me...i woke up too early...i didn't get enough sleep...uh...
