last night was a bunch of fun...Jacques magically showed up unexpected...then after a little while Amanda and then Jason came over too...Jacques brought over some dvds we watched, uh first off: He Doesn't Die (or something like that)...a funny japanese movie about, uh, a guy who doesn't die...then he has this Best of Kiss dvd thing, with like 5 of their videos from the 80's: and i don't care what any stupid cock rocker says, Kiss without make-up is a billion times better than they were with (please keep in mind than when talking about Kiss "better" translates to "funnier") then we watched Downtown 81, which overall wasn't great but i'd put it under the pretty good category...however, it just happens to have one of the best fucking things i've ever seen in my life! DNA playing "Blonde Redhead" and uh, shit, i forget the other one, but uh another one of their songs too...oh, before that we went to Huey's and after we ate we sat around talking for over 30 minutes and that was swell...then Justin came over amidst the dvd watchin'...oh yeah! and earlier on Jacques unlocked Pac-Attack on my Namcomuseum!!! he started telling me it's not a great game, but damn! it's like one of my favorite things ever now!!! it's uh Pac-Man meets Tetris...fuckin' awesome!!!
i'll start off my discussion of today-so-far by saying that i hate stupid banks closing early on stupid saturdays...fuck those homos...i did do some record shoppin'...i happened to just drive by and notice that though Legba is gone, it has become Goner Records...a lot of their stock consists of stuff they retained from Legba...there were two guys working there, i didn't recognize one but just before i left i notice the other was Eric Oblivian...Greg decided to keep it in "the family" i guess...the selection seemed to be even smaller, but i did get:
Screamers: In a Better World
Art Ensemble of Chicago: Live
then i made it to my intended destination of Lastchance where i picked up:
Liars: They Were Wrong, so We Drowned
Echo & the Bunnymen: Ocean Rain
Windsor for the Derby: Earnest Powers +
Miles Davis: Dark Magus
i also just finished reading The Myth of Sisyphus & Other Essays by Albert Camus...finally...i've been working on it for quite a few months (it's mostly just been my "takin' a dump" book...which kept us as the manner in which i finished reading it just now!!! it was no small one either...)
