"little devils out in droves"

thursday: work was okay...there was some lame "health fair"...at least i got to get out of taking calls for a little bit...i went towards the end of my shift...there was a table for the health care provider mci's switching over to but the other 4 or 5 tables were like banks and community colleges and crap trying to solicit their goods...i took one look and was going to leave, but i saw Chris was working at the sign-in table so i sat and talked with him for like 30 minutes about nintendo...that was swell...after work i went and did some shopping for my HALLOWEEN costume...

i was Elliott Smith...i went to Thrift Town and got a nice little jacket...then to K-Mart for a few other things (toboggan, white t-shirts, and a cheap kitchen knife...) while i was in the area i stopped by Best Buy where i picked up Y Tu Mamá También on dvd for pretty cheap...then i went over to Amanda and Jason's where i assembled my costume...the first part, and the most difficult, was snapping the blade off of the knife...it took me a while, i was outside hitting it with a pice of concrete when their downstairs neighbor lent me a hammer...that finally got the job done...then i taped the knife handle to a small piece of cardboard, which i taped to the inside of one of the white t-shirts...with the knife handle sticking out of the chest...then i had a bunch of fake blood around it dripping down...i'm really proud of the way it turned out...i thought it might be a little flimsy being taped down, but the knife handle was small and light enough so that it stuck out perfectly and the tape still has it holding firmly on there...and the blood looks great too...so i wore the t-shirt contraption (with another t-shirt underneath, as the cardboard, tape, and fake blood against my skin wasn't too comfortable) and the indie-looking jacket on top...and i wore the toboggan (which was also stripey and indie-looking, of course) 'cuz i can't pull off looking anything like Elliott Smith with my own hair...it's easily the best halloween costume i've ever had...of course, that's not a difficult feat since i've hardly dressed up at all since i was a kid...but i think the costume was pretty amazing regardless...

we got to wear our costumes to work on friday, that was fun...they took pictures of all the people dressed up...i think there might be some contest...anyway, a bit after work Jamie (the Hulk), Matt (Aladin Sane), and Jesse (uh, himself) met up with Brad (his boss) and me and we went over to Kerry's party...after a while Jason and Amanda (girl who just had a messy abortion) arrived...we were there a little while before making it out to Paul and Katie's party...that was swell as well...after a while we all went to this party thrown by some of Jamie's coworkers...i didn't know any of 'em...i was easily the oldest person there...they were all around the 18-20 range...well...maybe some were 21 or so...anyway, they were all the pseudo-punk types and it was pretty obnoxious...though one interesting thing did arise...Jamie got involved in this sort-of fight...this one guy (who had been acting like a cunt to Amanda earlier on) stole this other guy's flask or something and everyone else was getting pissed at him...then Jamie pushed him or something...anyway the guy was all pissed and serious but the whole time Jamie was joking around...when the other guy said "who do you think you are!?" Jamie actually said "i'm the Hulk!" i was inside so i didn't see any of the action, but i did hear him say that...anyway, other than that the party was a pretty miserable experience...ooh! i almost forgot to mention that there was one guy there dressed up as The Crow!!! honest to god! face painted up and was even wearing the black tights with tape and rope wrapped around...it was pretty fucking hilarious...

not too much happened yesterday...Justin came over...uh, a few of us (me, Justin, Amanda, and Jason) ate at printer's alley...then back to my apartment where we watched a movie...i passed out in the middle...now it's today and i'm at my parents' house...whoopie!
