adventure dudes

this morning Justin and i decided to go on an adventure...it was like 6-something am when he im'd me about it...i had been up since 6pm...i said "why the fuck not!?" yea...so we went in search of this abandoned air field just north of Raleigh...when we got to where we though it was, we parked at this church and went over and walked around this farm's field...the woods on the other side contained a barbed wire fence so we went back to the car and tried to search up from the south...we parked at the edge of this half-built suburb area and walked across some stripped land...some more woods...another field...on the edge we came across a gate in the fence (same fence we had come across before...) i climbed through it like the cool dude i am...on the other side of the woods was this soccer field...then there was another field in part of this recreation center...i searched around for the giant concrete runways while Justin waited on the other side of the fence but they were not to be found...the highlight of my day was climbing onto the top of a soccer goal and yelling "i'm king of the soccer goal!" so after a bunch of walking and searching and trespassing, we could not find this abandoned air field...we feared it used to be in the giant area that had been recently torn up for the rest of that suburb...after our most excellent of adventures we went back to Justin's house and looked it up...we found where we had been...it turns out we didn't drive out quite far enough...the place we were wandering around was about a mile or two south of where it is...so the adventure still lies ahead...but i think today's journey was worth it...it was actually quite a lot of fun...though sitting around in Justin's room i noticed a tick crawling on me! god should be sent to hell for creating ticks...so we had a dude-core party, stripping down to our underwear searching for ticks...i found one more on my shirt but that was it...thankfully they hadn't bitten into me yet...today i was wearing a short sleeve shirt...a bit of a dumb idea since we walked through woods and all...and a bunch of poison ivy too...though through my years of scouting, i've developed the skill of being able to avoid it so i came away non-itchy...by the time i got home and to bed it was well into the afternoon...oh yea, and i almost forgot about the snake we came across...walking back across the field with the high grass, uh, i saw this snake on the ground right in front of me...so we like went around it and stuff...i thought that was cool...i could have stepped on it but my trained woodsman skills kept us out of harm's way or something...yea...though i suspect it may have just wanted some nachos...

so i slept, woke up and watched my stories...slept some more and went out to Neil's for karaoke...i sang "The Immigrant Song" and finally at the end, sang "Take My Breath Away" dedicating it to "my life partner Brad...also, Megan never called me back...so i guess that pretty well confirms all my suspicions about her having become completely uninterested in me...ah, i have such a way with women...
