an electronic odyssey
Mar. 25th, 2003 12:12 amdidn't do much of anything all night last night...but after it became morning i watched Eraserhead...did some laundry...then i wanted to see if the Moog's keyboard was still acting funny...i plugged it in and it was still doing the same thing...then i noticed something even funnier...i discovered i could get the non-functioning keys to work if i held down a lower key at the same time...there's a short delay in response if i just hold down one key, but then i noticed if i hold down two lower keys it responds immediately...that's pretty fucked up...i'm thinking (hoping) the keyboard contacts just need cleaning...i took the machine down into the garage and opened it up...all i had was some tuner cleaner, which i don't guess is quite the right thing i need, but i figured it was worth a shot...i sprayed it in there (though most of the contacts are behind a board i wasn't able to get around at the time)...it isn't working any better now, but it least it passed the having-just-opened-it-up test of still working at all...at least w/ all this in mind it can be used to play "Taken" again...i went to sleep after noon had struck, woke up to watch The Simpsons and slept 'til almost midnight...wacky wacky wacky...
