no no wave

so i went w/ Justin to the show...he had to do a report for his music appreciation class and just went looking for anything he could possibly go to...so he found this band playing tonight called VHS or Beta...they're supposed to be no wave-ish...when we got there it was some hip hop thing...not terrible but far from good...then the rappaz got offstage and the dj continued to play for a while...while it was very bland, it was mostly on the inoffensive side...but then this other dj took over and it was fucking horrible...super-generic raver house shit...w/ the occasional soul singer...and the sad part was he was using these disco basslines for a lot of it that could have actually been cool in some sort of decent context...but this was utter shit...i saw Craig there...he knows the guys that were playing first...he informed us that the band we came to see's van broke down like 90 miles from Memphis...doh! (we were wondering if what we were seeing was supposed to be "no wave" or not...'cuz we didn't see any equipment or van outside giving indication that another band was coming up...) but it was at the Deli so we at least got to eat (and they weren't charging a cover)...then we went by the practice space and dicked around for a bit...i played on my drums and then my ARP...neither of which i'd touched in forever...now i'm back home once again...i just feel sorry for Justin, having to write a 3 page paper analyzing what we just saw...

little to say...

i managed to go to my stupid class today...it was just a review day...i left after i got the handout (as did most of the class...actually there was hardly anyone there when i arrived 10 min late...) so i was able to nap a little longer before work...it was pretty good today...i worked a little over 3 hrs and made $51...now i'm home w/ artificial intelligence homework to do...
