Flowers and Ambient Music

In the earlier part of the afternoon Mary Beth and I went to the Dixon for the daffodil show. There were also swarms and swarms of people there for the tulips. They had us parking in the lot of the building behind the place 'cuz it was so so full. It was a lovely day on top of it. The tulips were still out in force but much more opened than last week so you could tell they mostly wouldn't be there (or lookin' their best) in another week. So I guess they have about a two week lifespan (as flowers). Anyway, we walked around a little bit outside where the whole gardens were flooded with tulips then went inside for the daffodil show. Lots of very different kinds of daffodils, never knew about such variety. Mary Beth reveled in the discovery that the older breeds that look all curly have a strong smell and she enjoyed smelling them. Then in the evening we went to an ambient night show at Java Cabana. First up was Artificer and their set was great. Then it was Noah Hand and Fresh Fruit Radio. And last up it was Cel Shade who put on a typically pretty great set! There were also video projections with Carter doing video syntheses on someone playing Pikmin. After the show I picked up a Glut shirt from Lo (their metal project, I guess). Came back home to some new Chucks in the mail. One brown pair and one (darkish) green pair (and there's one more that was ordered that I guess should be on its way).
