In the afternoon I went up to Off the Walls to meet Yvonne and have a look at a rehearsal space for possible use for the live score rehearsals. They have some space available now but it might be a little small depending on how many people end up sticking with it and how much scrap metal we get (obviously the space we can rehearse in could be a determining factor in the size as well if it comes to that). It's also a bit much (price-wise) to rent it for two months. One month is do-able but then we'll have to wait until May to start, which could be fine, I don't think it will need a TON of rehearsals with the full group but then that also leaves the possibility that someone else will end up taking the space in the interim. I'll continue to look around but if I don't end up finding anything else I'll try back with it in a month. Yvonne's real nice though. They were working on building this plaster planet-wall for a stage when I arrived. In the evening Mary Beth and I went over to Opera Memphis for their St. Patrick's Day themed performance. There were a few of the standards like "Danny Boy" but it was mostly musical theater music where they admittedly had to stretch it a bit to find the Irish linkages (usually the songwriter was Irish-American).
