Got my SantaThing books in the mail: The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson and The City and Its Uncertain Walls by Haruki Murakami. No new revelations here, of course. I guess the santa played it safe with authors I already have. But I have been on the lookout for more Shirley Jackson since I liked The Lottery collection so much. I kinda stopped reading Murakami years ago since all his books got pretty same-y, but this new one at least sounds like it could be similar to the one of his I liked the most (Hard Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World) so maybe that's a promising sign as far as revisiting him goes. No complaints here, I full know the roulette wheel of the secret santa and that's why I fully embrace it. Just some observations! (And hey, at least it looks like I'll like these books even if they are familiar writers!) Then in the evening Mary Beth and I went back to feed and etc. Mango and Sarah. This time I got Sarah to play just a little bit (and again receive just a little bit of pets). Mango is funny 'cuz she goes absolutely bonkers when she's playing. She'll be playing with the dancer thing but then get riled up and have to go attack the hell of out of the ottoman she likes to sit on sometimes in a frenzied burst of madness. Cats are fun and funny.
