I finished reading The Hole by Hiroko Oyamada. It was pretty good. Later at night I was working on music for a compilation. I'd originally had a more involved plan but hadn't had the time or then the energy or then the will to get around to making it happen in time. Then I came up with a quicker and easier idea so I set about it last night. I record all the parts and then get to mixing them together and realize that I'd ended up recording only several tracks of silence. Turns out the cable I used to connect the synth to the recorder was bad...and I hadn't even bothered checking the connection or level before I started recording (and it was several goddamn tracks). So I went back and rerecorded everything. That's fine, maybe it was a little better after some practice, who knows. Then almost finished but I realized while mixing that the last track I recorded I'd done a minute too short. So I jumped back over to record one more minute of it and then suddenly I can't find the sd card adapter that I'd literally JUST had like a minute ago. And I'm looking all the fuck over for a good while and just cannot find it and I'm like what the fuck! I finally found it sitting behind my headphones where I'd sworn I'd looked but whatever. I found it when I went back to retrace my steps (you know, the fucking two steps between my laptop and my synth just behind me) for the umpteenth time, this time for Mary Beth's benefit. I guess someone else's presence magically helps sometimes. But, yeah, and blah.
