Mary Beth and I went and voted after work. It was pretty busy but moving along efficiently so there was never any long wait. When we first got to it, the lady directing us inside to the first table where we sign in noticed the shirt I was wearing: Tangerine Dream (Phaedra...the original album cover so the band name's text is pretty small and probably wouldn't be immediately recognizable without knowing the album). Anyway, she was all, Tangerine Dream! And then we're all, yeah awesome. And then before I went in she asked if I like Can, and I'm all oh yeah, and then she's like, now you're speaking my language. So, in a sense it was a shame it all moved so quickly. And that given the context I couldn't just come back and hang around the poll worker and become friends and talk about good music. Oh well! I'll just enjoy that little moment. Anyway, it's done and now just the waiting...ugh. At night, I worked more on my car-loading python script. As I said in the last post, I'd fixed getting the album image attached to the flac files. Then I was working on improving the search: fixing any errors, different ways to refine the search if the results aren't bringing anything back, finding cases where bad or weird results come up and ways to avoid as many as I can. And it's gotten pretty good. There can still be some weirdness in the artwork matching, but I guess that's a little bit part of the charm. Anyway, got the player loaded and in the car and it's working so that's nice and fun (for a dork like me).
