Drive Around

Had a pretty full impromptu day yesterday. It was also the first time we drove around in the new car. An adapter cable came in the mail and with it we're able to get the music system to play off my Sansa Clips. So that's sweet. First Mary Beth and I went to the park. We walked around the Old Forest and then around the pond. Then shortly after that we went downtown. First we went to Good Fortune where we mostly had drinks, but also a little bit of ube cake (yeah, we did dessert first). I had some of those magical mocktails again. I repeated the Loquita (which is my favorite). Then I had the one I didn't try before: Miso Happy, it has smoked tea, miso, and lime. It came in a big ceramic cup that's in the shape of a smiling pig kinda standing on its head and the straw comes out of its butt (it's more like a figurine in that it's not open at the top like a cup). I was not expecting that! And then it's also super fuckin' delicious! With all the smokiness it kinda tastes like Benton bacon (I guess hence the pig). But yeah, some good stuff. Then we went around the corner to Gus's and of course had some delicious chicken. Then at night I got nerdy and worked on a python script for loading the car player. Similar to the other scripts, but this time combining moving the files to the drive with the randomized sorting weighted towards more recent acquisitions (which is what I'm doing in my playlist scripts, but not yet in one where I copy stuff over to the other drive). That's all pretty basic and what I've done before, but I decided to add on top of it something that will download the album art from the discogs api. So it's doing that and hopefully it will pick it up just in the folder, but if not I may have to do extra stuff to embed it in the flac files (hoping the slightly easier approach I've already done works out). Also, semi-randomly two neighbors gave us bits of food. Our upstairs neighbor gave us some super delicious olive focaccia bread. And our next door neighbor (or at least her friend) gave us some peanut butter fudge (haven't tried it yet, but it's also most likely delicious!). I think that's all I've got for now.
