We went up to Gonerfest for the first act opening it up late yesterday afternoon. Yesterday's lineup was the least interesting seeming of all the days and that pretty much played out. There were a couple acts that were pretty decent. One that had some post-punk leanings in a way that was interesting in the context of garage rock but a little derivative and bland in the context of post-punk. Not bad and fine to listen to and there were even some ear-perking sections of songs, but nothing I'd go and seek out. Ran into a few people. We talked to Vanessa for a good while, and hadn't talked to her in forever. Talked to Mark and Betsy for a long time and hung out with them. Then something very unexpected happened right as we were leaving. I saw a guy walk by in an Ironing shirt, and I'm like, woah! Wouldn't expect to see that here of all places. So I talk to him and talk about Ironing for a second. Then it turns out that I'm talking to none other than Bobb Hatt, noise musician who played here at the very end of last year with Janet Xmas (his set was really incredible, and I think I was the only person at that show who wasn't performing or a s.o. of a performer). So that was pretty cool and unexpected. OH! I almost forgot the most important and exciting part! There's this stray cat the I guess lives in back of Railgarten and they were going around and getting some attention from people. After a while they came up near us and I gestured to them and they came over and let me them a whole bunch. So total cat attention. (And later saw some probably drunk guy approach them and they ran off, so not just anyone!...though I know a probably drunk guy at a rock festival is a pretty low bar.)

That also reminds me that I forgot about getting in and Peanut was there waiting for us. So I stayed outside a bit and got a ton of cuddles from Peanut in my lap. She was very nice and friendly (until I went inside and she did not like that I was leaving her and then tried to attack me, but at least it's jeans weather so I'm shielded!).

We got our replacement dishwasher in the mail a little before we left yesterday. So when I woke up this morning I put it all together and up on the counter. So hopefully we have a working dishwasher again!
