I got another book in the mail: The Lottery and Other Stories by Shirley Jackson. This was technically not from the birthday book haul but while I was getting those books, I'd been looking for it (it'd been on my mind to get since Mary Beth read to me the titular story earlier this year, I know, everyone's read that one and I knew all about it from cultural osmosis but had never actually read it) but figured it was something I could find for cheap used all around, so right after the other book haul that's just what I did. Then Mary Beth and I went over to Josh and Molly's and we hung out there for a good while just hangin' and eatin' cheese and delicious fancy sausage and just talkin' and stuff. Then at night we had just enough time to get home and eat dinner and go over to B-Side for a show. It was a later show. Neon Glittery played first and she was good as always. Then it was a touring band called Disintegration and they were kinda post-punk but a slick kind and I wasn't terribly into it. And last was Optic Sink and they were good as always. Ended up seeing Jacques JOSH (just noticed that a day later!) again as he came to it. We got in late and to bed even later but I'm up (late, sure, but no problem!).
