Worked for a short time yesterday, it being a day-before-the-holiday. In the afternoon I finished reading Ellen Foster by Kaye Gibbons and it was really good. This Cellular Chaos show (now in almost two weeks) has turned into an even bigger headache than the really big headache it was already. Got a forwarded email from Skinny that they did get the date wrong after all (we'd already had a back-and-forth about confusion over the date that was straightened out and then confirmed) and it was supposed to be the 10th and not the 11th. So the Hi Tone is of coursed booked then by now (it wasn't when this was first discussed!). But I reached out and managed to wrangle something at The Lamplighter and went back to confirm with the booking agent. It turns out that this was not the only mistake made for the tour and now the band is trying to decide if they're going to cancel the whole tour or not; they should have an answer by Friday. So, if they don't cancel then we have it ready to move to the new venue on the new night (one of the two local artists has already confirmed they'll be able to roll with that scenario, hopefully the other will be able to as well!). And if they do cancel their tour, I still have the original date on hold at Hi Tone so we can just do an all locals show on that night for the fun of it. So I should know how it turns out in a couple of days. Then last night Mary Beth and I watched the 1994 Little Women. I was going to go over to my parents' for Thanksgiving today, but there's covid going around the household so it's off.
