Crawfish Day

Yesterday afternoon Mary Beth and I walked over to the Square for the crawfish festival. It was a very beautiful day, one of those perfect April days that it usually is when the crawfish festival is happening! (Though I think the last one before covid was raining a lot and really dreary, and now today it's pretty overcast though not raining.) As we were leaving a neighbor was outside telling people how bad the crawfish was this year. Saying it wasn't seasoned at all. Well, it only happens once a year at best so we weren't not still going to go. So we went and picked up the crawfish. Ran into Karl and Gretchen and said hi for a minute. Then we ate our crawfish sitting on the front stoop and it was perfect weather. I see where he was coming from about the seasoning, at first it didn't taste like it was seasoned at all (though as I ate it more it came through and my lips were pretty numb and tingly by the end of it all). It was still good. And we enjoyed it and the beautiful day. Later in the afternoon we watched To Be or Not to Be (the Lubitsch movie) and it was really good. Later at night I finished working on the volume editing to the Halloween III soundtrack. So I got my edited sound stitched back into the dvd-ripped video but then when I rendered it to a new video I found that the sound and video were off by about a second. So I readjusted that and rendered it again and then the sound was all choppy (it tends to be choppy in the editor with files that large but the first time I rendered it even though the sound was off it wasn't choppy at all). I tried it again overnight and haven't had a chance yet to see how it turned out, but I'll be seeing soon. I'd like for it to have worked out so I can finally be done with this part of it and share the sections with the rest of my live score crew!
