i went to work last night, was there for less than an hour when i was put on call, of course never being called back...no runs at all...then i went and met Keith and Chris at their place, but we soon went over to Brad/Shade's...went to the Deli where Shade and i to-goed some food (mine was damned small, portion-wise...) finally we went to karaoke...i did "Candle in the Wind" in a style of Scott Walker mixed in w/ a style of Scott Walker up several octaves...it was great...the best reaction ever...i was super-over-the-top and i actually had ppl booing me...one guy yelling "you suck" and other such things...on the right there's the ppl i know cheering very loudly and on the left a large group booing...it was great...my strongest reaction yet...i'm very proud...later Justin wanted me to do "Hangin' Tough" w/ him...nothing too spectacular, i just sang very off, intentionally messing the words up, although i had though we were doing "The Right Stuff" and i was all mentally prepped for that so my jive was broken when the other song came up, yo...i had also put in "Dr. Feelgood" to sing in the style of King Diamond, but when 2am rolled around i was too fucking tired and went home...

i only had to go to my earliest class today, so i was able to watch The Simpsons, a wonderful, rare treat for me...though before that, i recorded a song...inspired by listening to The Flowers of Romance durring the car ride home...it was pretty much made up as i went along...i wanted the drums to be the most dominant thing so i recorded them first...then i added a bass track, although the track i recorded was fucked up (old, used tape...) but it's like a 7 min long thing so i decided to just leave it all cutting out and wobbly...then i did a ring modulated guitar track...then the vocals, PiL Johnny Rotten (errr...Lydon) meets Berlin-era Bowie, i guess is what it reminds me of, but since i was kind've going for a PiL thing anyway, not much of a surprise there...then i added a track w/ the drum synth...reminds me of the synth noises on Unknown Pleasures, except far more frequent...i think it's pretty cool, though the sound's kind've messed up in places, i need to get some new tape...and here's the lyrics...pretty minimal, i wrote 'em between recording the guitar and the vocals...i sang through once and then scream-droned random lines here and there throughout the end...yea...

All that you have
All that you want
All that you need
This is not mine
But you're determined
To keep it up
Nondeterminism. . .

I see you there
Please stay there
Don't want you here
But here you are
You won't let go
Of me. . . or your
Nondeterminism. . .

damn...it's a super-tough call...having very recently listened to The Flowers of Romance i'm being tempted to say i like it even more...although if i went and listened to Second Edition right now, but they're both super-great for different reasons...having the drums being the primarily melodic instrument of an album just gives me a boner...i'll play it for you tomorrow...it taped it off onto cassette, but i need to re-do it...some parts on the tape are peaking way too badly...but yea...
