The night before last I had a dream where everyone in the neighborhood was angry at Peanut (a neighborhood cat that lives in the complex next door but spends a lot of time outdoors) and chasing after him, accusing him of impersonating a doctor. And he just had like a stethoscope on him (maybe one of those mirror reflectors on his head, or maybe it was a kind of dream-mixed thing). That's all, nothing else really from there. There was also a dream later where Mary Beth was the president. Not really any details around that, but just a general sense that it was stressful or whatever.

Okay, then as far as yesterday Mary Beth and I went out in the afternoon to get ice cream from Margie's 901 (that place that's downtown near my work). We walked down near the river and ate it. Then we walked around a bit. The river's really really low, possibly the lowest I've ever seen it. The sunset and sky was nice though. On the way back I stepped in that River City Records place for the first time. They're mostly vinyl but they do have some cds so I figured I'd at least check it out. I'd been a bit suspicious of it seeing some ig posts where it would boast "super rare" tapes or cds and have a picture of the most basic, common, weed-like dollar bin shit. And yeah, their selection was mostly the most basic classic rock and mainstream rap which would be fine or whatever, but all their used cds are thirteen fucking dollars. There was one or two things that would been fine as a MAYBE-five dollar purchase, but no. And there's used stuff that could be worth that, but again, this was the most common level of dollar-bin-thrif-store-infesting stuff. I didn't have high expectations, but actually going in sunk them into fathomless depths. I did come home to a good cd in the mail: Kim Gordon: No Home Record. Mary Beth and I ended the night by watching a bunch of Schitt's Creek.

around the '16 election i listened to and thought about (among other things including what "lady elect" was more deeply and sorrowfully about, as well as the inauguration resistance rally where, was it kathleen hanna, sang-shouted "i want a dyke for president" and maxwell sang "women's work" and janet mock was wise as ever) electrelane's "i want to be the president" a lot, humm (also their cover of "the partisan"...). i also still think periodically about the mention that during campaigning hillary was so busy and stressed out her meals were like, spinach leaves straight from their plastic bag.

...
My gun is bigger than yours.
My tank goes faster than yours.
My missile's turning me on.
My weapon makes me feel strong.

Bang bang bang.
Do you wanna see my gun?
Well come on.
We'll resist, we'll resist.
But let you take control.

But if they say that is so,
Is that the way you will go?
And if you thought it was wrong,
Would you still follow along?

They're building walls tonight.
They're building walls tonight.
Ain't it cold,
Ain't it cold,
Ain't it cold,
Where you empty your soul?
