So yesterday I got a call from Kroger that our clicklist order for that night was postponed until the next day. But then the order online never reflected that and we still were getting updates about when our order was ready and such. The telephone number wasn't recognized either. So could that have been some sort of weird scam. Tried calling but no one answered. Figured we'd go up just to check it out. So did and found the person working in that area and he confirmed it and said he was the only person there and seemed frazzled. So, yeah. Before that we took a walk through the neighborhood. After that we watched Queen of the Damned. It was, as expected, pretty cheesy. I didn't know the thing about vampire dude being a nu metal rock star and that was definitely a much cornier plot line than I'd expected. Oh fuck, did I almost make a pun? 'Cuz korn dude is all over the soundtrack? Anyway...

whatever man, Aaliyah being badass was exhilirating (def the scene that felt explained why it went on the festival program succinctly). reminded me a bit of what i liked about early wicdiv, Sakhmet's DGAF badass attitude and power and the whys of it and all that. and i like anything that values things made fun of (usually by jeering straight dudes) in service to femmey desires just as valid and satisfying in their way as schlocky action and horror etc. (for said dudes) so the romance's deeper foundational drives/desire elements had its moments for sure too (proto- and better than 50 shades and all that indeed actually). except for Akasha getting a raw deal in tropey tiresome ways, but then on the other hand sort of also (perhaps inadvertently) revealing of actual experiences and all that. and the thick encoding of all sorts of girlhood/fairy tale etc. allusions was up my street too.
