Adventure Story

ateolfAfter work yesterday, I had the fun of cleaning out the bottom of our garbage bin. It actually wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Just sprayed with the hose and knocked the stuff off the bottom off and tumped it out. Mary Beth had seen a bunch of crap (possibly literal crap) and liquid sloshing around with maggots squirming around in it when she took it back in from being collected the other day. So I was expecting it to be really bad, but it had all dried out and the maggots were dead. So it didn't even end up being as gross as I was expecting.
Anyway, the main event of the evening was going over to Josh and Molly's to hang out. We had a good time over there. For dinner we went and picked up Tacosnganas (it's a food truck that's stationed just a little down from where they're at on Summer and I'd been hearing VERY good things about it). So their specialty has the same name and it's fried tacos. Really good stuff!! There was hanging out and talking. At a point Josh and I went out and played a bunch of ping pong. I was actually surprising myself by mostly doing pretty well. And there was one game where I was way down and Josh was about to win, but then I actually came back and then we were tied for a bit going over 11 and then I won. That was my shining comeback moment. Josh and Molly had this crazy story where they were kayaking recently and almost died! They're on this river that's off this lake and there's a dam and they release water into it daily. Josh was all, it's not going very fast and it'd be fun to ride the current from the released water. Also the water all comes from the bottom of the lake so it's super cold. So one day they did and they were in a spot where there are a lot of downed trees and such. At first they were protected by trees by then went out into it and were swept away suddenly and pushed into a big downed tree and Josh flipped out over his kayak to the other side of the tree and was hanging onto it then Molly fell. Molly apparently had barely anything to grab onto. Josh had a better hold and was eventually able to maneuver to get her. They let their kayaks go and finally make it so they're able to hop from tree to tree to get to a safe spot on land. They were freezing and bruised up pretty bad. I think they were close to hitting whirlpools and such. Anyway, and then after they're on land Josh sees his kayak a little ways down so goes to get it and goes across people's yards then he turns around and there's a guy right there who's all "boy, you shouldn't be trespassing on people's property in Arkansas, here we shoot first and ask questions later". The guy ended up being nice and helping them, but I'm sure that was fun way to be greeted. Anyway, that was their crazy story more or less. Got to bed pretty late last night. Now it's time for today!
