There was some really dramatic shit happening outside our house yesterday. So we hear two crashes in rapid succession. We can tell it's a wreck at the intersection that's right near our house, they happen there...not infrequently. Though this did sound worse than usual. At first couldn't see anything, so I went to a window towards the front of the house. I could see an suv turned on its side. There was also a sedan or whatever just a little ahead of it with its front smashed up a little bit. By this point there were two men who had climbed on top of it (which is the side of the suv) holding the door open and I get there just in time to see them pulling a small boy up out of the vehicle. The boy seemed physically fine so then I was hopeful that everyone was okay. Also, there were a lot of people around (from the cars that had been stopped at the light) and they seemed actively concerned but no one seemed to be acting in a way that indicated any sort of tragedy (not that maybe you can actually tell what that'd look like, I dunno). The fire trucks arrived shortly and got to work on getting the remaining person or people out. One was on the top at the door lowering some sort of blanket inside. I couldn't tell what was going on and that's where my attention was focused so I didn't see the woman come out, presumably they got her out closer towards the ground, maybe they cut something or helped her out through the windshield or something. But I saw she was just suddenly there standing on the ground and the boy ran up and hugged her. I didn't see anyone else come out so it may have just been the two of them. There was also some activity just around the corner so I'm not sure what else went on. They kinda disappeared from view. I did see someone get put on a stretcher and taken off in the ambulance, but there didn't seem to be much hurry about it. That ambulance arrived a bit later and I could see them moving on the stretcher so they seemed they were probably fine. Also the ambulance hung around a good while after they were put inside it. Probably more of a precautionary thing than an actual emergency. At one point later on into (before the person was taken on the stretcher) I saw a police officer walking away with a small dog in their arms. Not sure what that was about, speculating maybe it was the person who was going to be taken in the ambulance and they had a dog in their car (not sure which car it wouldn've been, maybe the sedan, I didn't see a dog taken out of the suv, but it's possible they could have taken it before the boy as it may have been easier since it's smaller, not really sure since I hadn't seen the dog before I saw it being carried. So yeah, that was my early afternoon drama, not sure what's going on but hoping everyone is okay and thankfully it seems like that was the case.

Well, so what else? Later in the evening I worked on some music. Finally really got around to starting work on that thing for Luís in earnest. I found the problem was not my midi converter module. I realized "oh yeah, I have another one in my dotcom system" so tried that and still didn't work, then switched it out with another midi cable, still didn't work...then realized, oh yeah, I have other synths right here than can act as midi controllers, so I hooked it up to my Minimoog and the midi was working. So it's just my old midi keyboard that seems to be a problem. Anyway, I recorded some stuff yesterday evening. I'll see if it's any good when I get around to editing. Made up some sleep today. Also, lost that hour due to daylight savings so it's like I slept even longer or whatever. Anyway, that's about all I've got for now.
