So...the no water thing continues. We did a lot to gather snow into buckets yesterday but you soon realize just how not dense snow is. It takes so much and a lot of time to melt it to be able to get enough water to fill the toilet tanks. Today, with the sun melting the snow more, we switched to getting water coming out of the gutters. Went to Home Depot to pick up more buckets to keep the water in. Also, yesterday did an errand run to several stores to get more just-in-case provisions (also checked to see if there were public bathrooms we could use, but given the water pressure issues around the whole city, quickly saw that those would be a no-go). We're good for now, been making the sparing use of the toilet work and flush, but had a near-miss once. We have a backup lined up as well. So today was fun running around filling up buckets and gathering the snow runoff like pioneers or some shit. I'm also starting to smell pretty ripe right now! I think soon we'll get that fixed. But yeah, plumber said was coming yesterday and didn't. Then he said he was coming at 9:30 or 10 this morning and then said 1 pm this afternoon. Still hasn't showed up and haven't gotten an answer to my last text. Something my landlord said made it sound like he told my landlord he came by yesterday but just in the basement and was coming back today. I mean...maybe that's possible, but we never saw his truck (and the bedroom window's been open and we can see in the back as we'd been at least enjoying the look of the snow and also we'd been out there out back quite a bit gathering it) and we never heard anyone down in the basement. So yeah. Whatever, but yeah. Anything else? I don't know. Things have been a bit of a blur where it both feels like so much is happening and nothing at all is happening.
