And the year drags on. Didn't do a whole lot yesterday. In the evening I picked back up on studying for the exam (that's schedule for later today!). Mary Beth and I played some Santorini and Too Many Princesses. That's about it, I slept and now it's time to face today!

I have the Santorini App and haven't played it in ages, man, I should try that in my downtime. It's a fun little game.

Not sure if you'll see my post, but Ele-King magazine just released (on xmas) a 45,000 word Autechre interview. 1550 yen (15 bucks US) but of course it's in Japanese. Some folks on /r/autechre are thinking about doing a translation. I suppose WATMM folks might be trying too. Would be cool to see an English version or fan translation, but figured I'd let you know it exists in case you miss it :)

Yeah, Santorini's a lot of fun. It's pretty deep and elegant for having such simple mechanics.

That's awesome and I'll need to check that out (if it does get translated)! I felt dumb, because while I'd had Sign all preordered before it was released, almost a month passed before I realized Plus had also been dropped. Then by the time I ordered it it was mid-December (with all the horrors of mail delivery that have been going on lately) and I'm still waiting for it to arrive.

I need to go back to Plus. Alas, I really haven't enjoyed it nearly as much as Sign, so I think I need to do the old Confield trick and listen to it regardless so it can grow on me... Confield is now one of my fave albums of theirs, maybe Plus will be the same (I really like Sign and basically everything after Draft/Untilted - I think it's just less accessible than a lot of their more recent stuff - not that it's nearly as much as Confield, though).

Yeah, Confield is probably my favorite of theirs...though I mean, it was sort of like the point that pretty much started almost everything they did being THE BEST THING EVER (to use a bit of hyperbole). So maybe it's hard to solidly say which their best is. And everything they did before that was great too, but they really started something with Confield. I'm waiting til I get my physical copy of Plus to dig into it, but I'm impatient for it! Sign reminds me a bit of Oversteps.
