Had a nice Friday off yesterday. Mary Beth and I ordered pickup from the new Maciel's location that just opened up nearby in Cooper-Young. It was good! I finished reading The Transmigration of Timothy Archer by Philip K. Dick, thus completing that final trilogy of his (though this one is only part of the trilogy due to timing and themes, it's not related in any plot or character sort of way). It was okay. It was better than The Divine Invasion but wasn't great. I mean, there were some okay things, but it was pretty repetitive and had a lot of the similar clunky writing. A little later Mary Beth and I played this new board game we got called Santorini. It's a lot of fun. She beat me a bunch. It's kinda chess-like. It's two player and has a grid board and there is no element of chance. It's all in the balance of how you move your workers (each player has two) and build layers of buildings. So there's a three-dimensional element (3D-CHESS!). But the rules are very simple and elegant, yet it has a lot of possibility. Then there are further additions to gameplay where you can each be a Greek god with different powers which we didn't even get into (as it's recommended to start without that for beginning...and then when you get into it, there are two levels of the god cards, regular and advanced). Even without all that extra layer, it's pretty rich as it is. Later at night we finished watching that first season of Insecure. Alrighty.
