Last night I put my new module into my case. Haven't gotten around to playing with it yet, but that was a thing that was good and pure and not horrible. Today at work, however, as an api was about to be deployed someone found intermittent errors with it in test. Then it turns out the people who were working on it had seen it earlier while qaing. So we had it rolled back out of the deployment that'd just happened. Now I know we're a laughing stock in some circles. I was fucking furious at first when I found out they'd seen the error but still let it go out. This was the third time my team had tried to deploy it. We got chewed out by our manager hardcore. Then stayed late trying to troubleshoot and fix the issue. Didn't go home til after 7. I did find some circumstances that'd made it less bad. There were other database issues at the time it was happening and then the dba made them stop load testing at a high volume (which is the only time it'd come up). So they only saw it the once and they did talk to other people about it but I guess wrote it off to the database issues. I'm pretty sure this all happened when I was on vacation. Anyway, I wasn't having a good day since a little after lunch. We've taken away some lessons and all that. Now it's time to damn relax, alright!
