Did some practicing yesterday afternoon on the modular for the show I'm playing with Nonconnah tonight at the Hi-Tone. Came up with what I think is a pretty good patch. Mary Beth and I did our Jo Jo duties and after that we went out and tried that Lucky Cat ramen place. It was really good, will go back. The pork in the bahn mi steamed bun was a little dry, but the pork in the ramen was decidedly NOT (I mean, yeah, duh) and the ramen was really darn good. After that we went back home and finished the first season of The Good Place. Nice Sartre-esque "twist" there. (I realize the quotes and use of the word "nice" may have made it seem sarcastic but it's not.) Now it's today. A little late start but we'll get going. I forgot to mention that Alex wrote the best-of 2017 Memphis music for the Flyer and there's an electronic section and he'd asked me for some recommendations of albums released so I did and some of them made it on the list! Actually, Paul's Ihcilon album was #1! That's pretty damn exciting. Nonconnah was #2 (obviously this precludes me having anything to do with the band). And Luís's Sci Fi Industries album was #5 (and hey, I've got a guest appearance on that). Pretty happy for Paul to get the recognition 'cuz his music is just fabulous. Here's the link anyway!
