Mary Beth and I went up to the Latino Memphis festival at the park. Pretty cool, lot of Colombian representation to go with Memphis in May. Had some good food and got sunburned. I finished reading Childhood's End by Arthur C. Clarke. It was okay. Later, we went up to Midtown Crossing Grill for the Memphis Feminist Collective's third birthday show. We saw Ryan but Foxglove had already played. Well, we took a break and went up to Rec Room for my coworker Mike's birthday thingie. Had a nice conversation with Matthew. Then back to Midtown Crossing for the rest of the show. The final act was this band called Sweaters Together. How would I describe them? Casio girl-punk? A little Young Marble Giants a lot of 90s riot grrl, but on the fun lovin' side of it. I liked them a lot. One of the better local bands I've seen. Now it's mothers day and also the thing I'm currently listening to...one week!
