Practice yesterday was pretty productive. Jacques and Ryan came over and we finished up a few things. I had thought the director didn't like the synth on "Blood of Destruction" but it ended up being my guitar intro (specifically the effect on it, pitch-shifted delay...I was attempting to somewhat create the illusion of playing more notes than I was actually playing, but according to the director it sounded like a "haunted house" instead, which I guess I can see). So we had Ryan record a solo to put over that brief intro. Just recorded it straight onto the handheld recorder so I could just put the wav file right on top of the original mix (which I did later last night). Then we recorded Ryan's synth part on "Ambient" and then Jacques and I mixed that and "Reggae" (hm, I wonder if these things will ever have names). In the evening Mary Beth and I took a tour of the fairgrounds from some dude who used to work for the city and knows all kinds of shit. Met by the Coliseum and got to hear bits of knowledge about that and everything else as we walked around the fairgrounds, most of which I've probably already forgotten but it was pretty informative and cool. Afterwards we finally ate at the Casablanca location that's near us. Good to finally be "back." Getting ready for the production release tomorrow, we've got this whole project we'd been holding back from merging to trunk and deploying because it all depends on new tables in the database, etc. Well, it's almost three months of work we're all finally merging so it's been some fun svn times!
