i've just gone through 6 pages or so of my friends page after having been gone for some days...yay...after i posted last, David got in and then he, Jacques, Paul, and i went out to a couple lame places...after having been awake well over 24 hrs i managed to maybe get 2 hrs of sleep before David (w/ the other 2 along) graciously drove me to the airport...it then turned out that the ticket-certificate thing they gave me that i thought was for my adjusted flight, is in fact actually an extra certificate for a FREE ROUND TRIP FLIGHT TO ANYWHERE ON AIRTRAN...i'm pretty excited about that...now i just have to figure out where the hell i'm gonna go...if anyone has any suggestions (as well as and especially considering cheap cheap (free?) lodging) i would be most gracious...i have a year to use it...(my selection of destinations is limited to the eastern half of the u.s. as that is AirTran's smaller range...) the flight to New Orleans was very pleasant...i rotated between looking out the window and reading 2010 (about halfway through w/ that one now...) got to New Orleans 15 min early, waited for Justin outside the airpot (hothot), ate at the Piccadilly, slept for 4 hrs at his house, packed the van w/ his stuff, went to his girlfriend's place where we showered (his water was turned off) and then went to eat at Bravos (italian) w/ her brother (from MA) and two friends (an engaged couple) of theirs...we then met a few more friends (though the couple went their seperate ways) at a bar and i was able to contact Julia and she met us there too...we then went to some other bar...i felt bad 'cuz i was extremely boring and i completely bored the hell out of her w/ my wacky antics of not being able to come up w/ interesting things (anything?) to say...oh well...i was out of my element (assuming i have one, which i really don't) at the whole bar scene...especially since i don't even drink...and i'm not too keen on public places...especially where there are ppl drinking...i wasn't all angry or pissy...just quiet and reserved...(the usual) we went to sleep back at Justin's girlfriend's place...i slept on the couch...i was awoken around 5 by her roomate/friend? who started talking to the brother right out there in the living room w/ the lights turned on not caring too much about waking the sleeping person...she even was asking "who/why is that passed out on the couch?" he was just like "that's Robert" she then got either on top of me or just right over me and proceeded to ask me...i was struggling to stay asleep (i was still asleep at this point...barely...) i then mumbled something about being from Memphis...she persisted then i just said "ask Justin"...THEN the brother proceeded to explain my presence...i couldn't get back to sleep after that...they went back in another room to smoke out...i was amused 'cuz she kept asking him if "the guy on the couch is gay"...i don't know what brought that up...i guess i just have that effect on ppl...i managed to fall back asleep a little after 8...woke up a little before 9 (about 30 min or so later)...i didn't get too much sleep but i was feeling alright...we then went on our quest to drive to the grand ol' city of Memphis...i drove the van and Justin drove his jeep...it wasn't as bad as i thought it'd be...awkward at first, but then again, at first i was driving on the streets of New Orlenas which are **extremely** bad...my only real problem was that the right-side rearview mirror kept slowly drifting outward and it had to be readjusted each time we stopped (the first time i stopped to fix it just for that...and to shut the door better...) when we got to Memphis we proceeded to go through the task of moving all of his stuff to his new upstairs apartment...ugh! much work...MUCH work...we were so exhausted when we were through...towards the beginning, i laid down on the floor and his dog (a pitt bull/american bulldog w/ a big, thick tail) was jumping around all excited-like...her tail whacked me in my open eye...it really sucked...quite painful...i washed it out and it slowly numbed away...afterwards his parents took us to dinner at India Palace...i love Indian food...they drove me home and i slept...mmm...sleep...enter today: woke up, went to classes...i thought i had an hour gap between my spanish class and my lit. class...i went to Lastchance where i sold my Operation Ivy cd and bought the Y Pants cd...it RULES! (so far...haven't gotten to listen to all of it yet...but imagine The Slits submerged in the no wave scene...ukelele & toy piano/casio goodness...w/ drums and sometimes bass...the toy instruments are run through effects though and the ummm...effect is really cool-sounding...) they didn't have SYR5 so i purchased that at Shangri-La...haven't been able to listen to it yet but i am eagerly anticipating that event...i then went to The Apartment where i looked at my schedule and noted that i did not, in fact, have an hour gap between classes, just the usual 15 min...i was 1/2 hr late...i then rushed back to school...i didn't really miss anything...then i bought books...then i went back and hung out w/ Paul and we ate at Lenny's sub place...went back, watched the Simpsons, did some homework, then Paul insisted i pick Jacques up from work since he had to go do something or other about getting some sort of UNIX thing or something...so i did...i went back home shortly after...now here i am like more than 2 hrs later, typing this immense message...just consider it 3 very eventful days packed into one...although i'm sure even less ppl will have read this than usual since it's so fucking long...oh well...on another note, i haven't been thinking about the puppies too much...maybe that's good, but in a way it's kind've sad...yet another note: i'm actually really excited about school having started...after having not gone a summer, it's nice to be back...i was all sick of it to an extent after a few years w/out break...but i guess the break did me some good now...i really need some sleep now...i hope i didn't forget anything i meant to mention, although i don't see too well how i could have...

re: everything
-Take a round trip flight to my house. I'm sure they wouldn't mind landing on my driveway. We could hang out.
-Sonic Youth have a new SYR project out? I must purchase it.
-Lenny's fucking rules. The chicken philly is like, the supreme manifestation of food godhead...or something.
-You need to go to the shows with us. You'd only have to skip like 2 days of classes.
-Moving sucks indeed.
-India Palace rules, even when you can't understand your waiter.
-I can't believe everyone hates "The Blue Mask" so much. I know it's not Lou's best or anything, but I quite enjoy.
-Don't cancel on the Chicago trip. It's gonna rule.
-I know how you feel about the puppies. Awhile back my cat had kittens, and one of them was born with his intestines on the outside, attached to his umbilical cord. He had to be "disposed of". It was really depressing. His mother rejected him and wouldn't nurse him because she knew he couldn't be helped. The poor kitten had only a few hours of life outside the kitty-womb. Oh well, the other three kittens lived and are driving me insane now...
Re: everything
Date: 2000-08-29 11:23 am (UTC)-SYR5 isn't Sonic Youth propper, it's Kim Gordon, DJ Olive, and Ikue Mori (of DNA fame) i just started listening to it and it FUCKING RULES so far...you should pick it up...i'm also now recommending Y Pants to everybody...god they're fucking amazing!
-i plan on going to the shows...i think they're gonna happen durring fall break...but i can't miss too much class if they don't...i dunno...looking at the schedule of classes now to see if it says when fall break is...grrr!!! it's the 7-10...the opposite side of the weekend than what i need...we'll see, i still say, do we need *2* nights of Low? i mean, it'll be hard enough being able to drive back after one show...staying awake and all...we'll see...
-it was intersting at India Palace 'cuz our waiter was like Mexican...
-when Leala had her puppies (the batch that Lizzie came from, of course) she had like 7/8...either 2/3 were stillborn and one died a couple of days later 'cuz its skull wasn't formed right or something...but w/ Lizzie's all 5 died almost exactly a month later...and it was completely unexpected...unnatural...god...oh well...we'll need to work something out for Chicago...i really wanna go...i'm okay w/ missing one day of school, but i'm not sure how good it will be to push two...well...at least i'll have 2 extra days at the end of the weekend (that no one else'll be able to get out of their jobs for)!
