yesterday, Jacques reminded me that my dad has a portable air compressor as he asked to borrow it...my tires had been low for a while and i'd been putting off going to a gas station, but before i left for The Apartment i used it to put air in my tires...they were a lot lower than i thought (18) so it was good that i did that...then when i got there i easily convinced David to go w/ me to Wherehouse Music where i bought:
Yo La Tengo: Danelectro ($3)
Radiohead: Kid A ($10)
Trio: Da Da Da ($5)
it was quite the killing i made...very happy about my purchases...especially finally finding Kid A used, something that took me far longer than i had originally expected...as a side note, i had heard it before from Jacques, but it was more in the background and i was only half-listening, i was also really tired...i liked it, but it didn't move me very much...i still planned to get it (i also knew i needed to give it a real listen)...i didn't think it was as good as OK Computer...but upon getting it and really listening to it, goddamn what a great fucking album! i'd prob'ly now say it's better than OK Computer...it just fucking rules...that's all...

then we returned and got Paul and went to pick up Other Paul...this was the first time i had met him...he's really cool though...then we went to Neil's to karaoke...i did "The Song Remains the Same" (Zeppelin, of course) and did my usual butchering...it wasn't as good as i normally mangle their stuff, but it was pretty good...i had also put in "All for Love" (from the 3 Musketeers...and the 3 Musketeers of rock'n'roll: Brian Adams/Rod Stewart/Sting...) it took a while to get to that...far longer than i was actually planning on staying there, but i waited for that as we'd tried to do that in the past...finally it got to us...it was David, Justin, and i...it was really great...we completely mangled it...beautiful...at some point the blonde trailor-skanky chick just got up and started singing w/ us...trying to out-do us a bunch...it was kind've annoying but kind've funny too...and towards the end i all put my arm around Justin and after we were done the redneck lady who runs it was all talking about "culture shock" and "no comment" and stuff...presumably from the putting my arm around Justin whilst singing about being "all for love" and the inherent homosexuality implied...funny stuff yea...but i had to leave right after that...another high point was Paul and David doing "Sherry, Baby" i think that's how its spelt...i left later than i wanted and got to sleep much later than that (after 4) for various reasons...i went to class all tired this morning which is okay 'cuz i only have one class today and we were just watching a movie (Nueva Yol)...then i went home and slept some more...now i'm off to my operating systems class and then right afterwards i'm going to see Mambo Mouth...i'm pretty freaked out about having to talk to that guy as part of the assignment...oh well...i guess i'll deal w/ it or something...that's all for now though...

Wish I could have been there

I remember Jacques telling me about your ability to butcher a Zep song and still sound brilliant. I really wish that I could see that one day. Maybe when I come down to see Jenna.
