as i "promised"...
Jan. 27th, 2001 02:25 pmas i said earlier, yesterday i made a mixed tape for this girl i talk to on aim sometimes...she asked me to make a tape of several (10) bands in my profile list thingie or whatever...for this tape i actually went through major planning procedures...i knew i'd have an average of 12 min per band/artist/whatever w/ the 2 hr tape and i knew i wanted more than that for some and whatnot...so i went through and got the times (converting seconds to decimals even, for simplicity...) for all the possible songs and a few shorter backup songs in case what i wanted would be too long...i had several possiblities of what i would choose for each group added up and compared them all and finally came up w/ a solution that worked...i had to cut a bunch of stuff, of couse, but i think overall i got a good mix and stuff...all of the bands were ones she asked for except New Order (which i counted as Joy Division) and Teenage Jesus & the Jerks (which i counted as Lyida Lunch)...here's the results of my scientifically engineered effort...a model of rock'n'roll efficiency, or something...:
